This aging beauty impresses on the nose, with Fernet-Branca–like aromas of black licorice and medicinal herbs. This is medium- to full-bodied and still fresh, with grippy tannins and a creamy mix of baked cherry, singed orange peel, aged leather and tarry smoke notes. Drink now through 2027. 1,500 cases made, 560 cases imported.
The family has been growing Nebbiolo on the steep slopes of Valtellina since 1860.In 1984 Arturo Pelizzatti Perego rebranded & refocused the winery to cultivate Nebbiolo expressive of their unique terroir with meticulous attention to tradition&quality.Today Isabella,Emanuele&Guido(5th gen) continue the pursuit of pure Nebbiolo wines rooted in minerality & finesse rather than structure or concentration.
