A compact, full-bodied red, with a fragrant thread of anise hyssop and tar-tinged smoke wafting through blackberry, black currant, sandalwood and espresso crema. Fresh and focused, with firm tannins enmeshed with the rich flavor profile, which lingers on the spiced finish. Drink now through 2033.
Founded in 1971, Arnaldo Caprai continues to be the leading producer of Sagrantino di Montefalco wine. An indigenous varietal to the region, Sagrantino di Montefalco has an extensive history of over 500 years. In 1988 Marco Caprai assumed the leadership role of the winery and immediately began doing researching and experimentation through a partnership with the University of Milan.
