The lovely nose of sandalwood and tea rose leads to a finely meshed range of juicy, sun-dried black cherry, fig cake and dried marjoram flavors, while sculpted tannins form a supple, medium- to full-bodied frame. Very appealing now, but this should open beautifully with some aging. Drink now through 2020. 350 cases made.
The story began with Gino Umani Ronchi in the heart of Verdicchio Classico in 1957. Today the Umani Ronchi wine estate is owned by the Bianchi-Bernetti family with more than 200 hectares across the Castelli di Jesi and Conero wine districts in Le Marche and 40 hectares in Abruzzo. Verdicchio, Montepulciano and Pecorino are the most important varietals cultivated following the latest organic farming practices with the ambition of crafting quality wines.
