Chianti Classico Vigna del Sorbo Riserva 2010
95% Sangiovese, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon
Lush and dark, boasting black cherry, blackberry, tobacco and earth flavors. Though the texture is initially supple, firm, dense tannins take over on the finish. Needs time. Drink now through 2027. 1,800 cases made, 600 cases imported.
Fontodi is located in the south valley of Panzano in Chianti, called “Conca d’Oro” (the Golden Shell) because of its amphitheatre shape. The 100 ha of vineyards are cultivated organically, so the wines reflect the character of their magnificent Panzano origins as faithfully as possible. The estate has belonged to the Manetti family since 1968.
