This is opulent and powerful, offering black cherry, black currant, plum, leather, iron and tobacco flavors boosted by the racy acidity. Overall, this feels firm and complex, with a long finish. Not your typical style from the northern part of the Brunello di Montalcino zone, yet compelling. Drink now through 2038. 650 cases made, 300 cases imported.
Valdicava started to produce Brunello in 1967. Vincenzo together with his children now runs the 135-hectare estate with his 27 hectares of vineyards. He grows the vines tending them carefully in the biodiversity of nature. The result is harmonious, balanced and elegant wines, made respecting the unique character of the place.
