A brooding red, with sun-dried black cherry, charred toast, toffee pudding and medicinal herb and spice notes richly displayed on the silky palate, framing a compact core of tannins. This is enlivened by lightly juicy acidity and accents of citrus zest and dried violet that echo on the finish.—Blind Amarone retrospective (April 2016). Drink now through 2030. 1,400 cases made, 100 cases imported.
Zenato winery is located in Peschiera del Garda.The founder Sergio Zenato has been building the reputation of native grape varieties since 1960. He invested in the potential of Turbiana. In 1990 Zenato acquired the Costalunga estate which accommodate Corvina, Rondinella and Oseleta the main varieties that create Amarone.Today Zenato is represented by his wife Carla and their sons Alberto and Nadia.
