Aleatico Salento Passito 2008
Mouthcoating and creamy, this is the color of mahogany and features a rich panoply of molasses, baked and dried nectarine, roasted nut, toffee pudding, bergamot and fennel seed flavors. Finely balanced and enlivened by well-knit acidity, this is lightly mouthwatering on the long, salted caramel–accented finish. Drink now.
Masseria Li Veli is located in the Salento peninsula, half way between the Adriatic and the Ionian Seas. The winery started its activity in the late 1800s under the ownership of Marquis Antonio De Viti De Marco. In the early 2000s, the Falvo family took it over to a new life, focusing its mission on high-quality wines from indigenous varietals like primitivo, susumaniello, verdeca and aleatico.
